To do so, they drive some of the most beautiful cars you have ever laid your eyes upon. While the average police car in America is a tired-looking sedan, Dubai cops are rolling around in Lamborghinis and Ferraris that can go over 200 miles an hour. For an only fifty-year-old force that boasted just 29 members in 1956, its level of modernity in 2015 is astounding.
There are 10 police stations spread across Dubai and officers are easily recognizable in the standard uniform of a green shirt with a red banner running under the left arm. They couple this with a dark green beret, green pants and black boots. Female officers typically wear the uniform with a headscarf, as Dubai is an Islamic nation. Both sexes carry semi-automatic handguns and have access to a wide variety of weapons including shotguns, rifles, flash grenades and tasers. Becoming a member of Dubai’s police force is considered an elite privilege, as the level of education they must complete before attaining their badge is worthy of the highest international standards. 10. Nissan GT-R
Comically, the $100,000 Nissan GT-R is considered one of the Dubai police force’s least expensive patrol cars. This high-powered model is one of the most standard ones you’ll see patrolling the city’s streets and has a twin-turbo V6 engine putting out 545 horsepower. The car can reach a top speed of 196 miles per hour, making it an ideal choice for high-speed car chases to nab the bad guys. Its super sexy, sleek two-door design doesn’t hurt its cause either. It was added to the Dubai police force’s fleet in 2013.
