7. Eddie Redmayne

Academy Award-winning actor Eddie Redmayne has also told a porky to get a role. When Eddie was doing a reading for the 2005 television miniseries Elizabeth I, director Tom Hooper asked Eddie if he knew how to ride a horse. Eddie said that he could, but that wasn’t exactly the truth. Eddie secured the part of Southhampton, but never admitted to telling the fib about being able to ride. When he was filming a scene on horseback with Helen Mirren and 40 other men, he wondered if it was too late to reveal the truth. However, Tom quickly caught on. Despite the lie, Tom and Eddie worked again together on Les Miserables.
