4. Aidan Turner
Poldark star Aidan Turner told a fib to land the starring role in the BBC drama series. When he auditioned for the role of Ross Poldark, he told producers that he was comfortable on horseback. He claimed that when he played Kili in The Hobbit, he was given a lot of riding lessons, but that was an exaggeration of the truth. In Hollywood, it seems like exaggerating your horseback riding ability is almost as a common as fibbing about your age. Aidan did get the role and the show frequently has scenes of him galloping up the coast. He actually had the cast and crew convinced that he was a decent rider until he recently admitted the truth about his riding ability.
