It’s no wonder so many celeb kids have led troubled lives. At one point or another, all kids rebel against their parents. It’s a part of growing up. But when you’re the child of a celebrity, the rebellion is that much worse. Here’s the list of the 10 celeb kids who went down a bad path, be it through drugs, crime, or some other form of illicit (or downright stupid) behavior. 10. Chet Haze

Don’t know who Chet Haze’s parents are? That’s because Haze isn’t his real name. He was born Chester Hanks, and he’s the son of actors Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson. Unlike his brother Colin Hanks, Chet didn’t follow in the steps of his parents and become an actor. Instead, he became a rapper (or at least he tried to become a rapper – it’s hard to be taken seriously when you grew up rich in Hollywood). Tom Hanks has been pretty quiet about his son, but he recently opened up about Chet’s addiction and rehab stint. Haze has largely been able to avoid legal trouble, but it was reported in 2015 that he had trashed a hotel room in England, causing over $1,000 in damage. Navigate using arrows below 9. Drew Barrymore Before she was the loveable actress that we know today, Drew Barrymore, whose father and grandfather were actors (and her granduncle played Mr. Potter in It’s a Wonderful Life ), was a child star with a serious rebellious streak. She was smoking by the age of nine, drinking by the age of eleven, smoking marijuana by the age of twelve, and snorting cocaine by the age of thirteen, landing her in rehab before she was even able to drive. Thankfully, Barrymore was able to turn her life around and forge a successful career for herself in the film industry, starring in blockbuster hits like Charlie’s Angels and The Wedding Singer . 8. Richard Hilfiger

Richard Hilfiger is the heavily tattooed and once green-haired son of famous American fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger. Rather than get in the fashion business and one day fill his father’s shoes (subtle fashion pun), Richard chose a decidedly different lifestyle. Like Tom Hanks’s son, Hilfiger tried his hand at rapping (under the name Ricky Hill). He was arrested a few months ago after punching a bouncer in the face during a fight outside a nightclub. He was also charged with possession of marijuana. 7. Weston Cage

It must be strange growing up the child of Nicolas Cage, one of the weirdest guys in Hollywood. Perhaps it in some way led to Weston Cage’s drinking and legal problems. Before sobering up, Weston was hospitalized with severe withdrawal symptoms. In 2011 he was arrested twice in one month for domestic violence, and in that same year he started a fight with a guy by trying to land a roundhouse kick (he would end up getting beaten up by that guy and a restraining order was placed against him). 6. Marcus Jordan

Can you imagine trying to follow in the footsteps of Michael Jordan, arguably the greatest basketball player of all time? While Marcus Jordan (25-year-old son of Michael) was a decent player in his own right, having played division 1 basketball at University of Central Florida, he was nowhere near the level of his father. But Marcus is perhaps most famous for what he did off the court. In 2013, he sent out a picture of his junk on Twitter, later claiming that he had been hacked. Before the Twitter incident, he had been arrested in Omaha after a drunken argument with two women. 5. Charlie Sheen Charlie Sheen, son of iconic actor Martin Sheen, has led a very troubled life, one that has been covered extensively by the media. He’s been in and out of rehab for drug and alcohol addiction, he suffered a stroke in 1998 after overdosing on cocaine, and he was arrested for assaulting his wife. And then of course there was that highly publicized meltdown in 2011, where he acted in a bizarre manner (i.e. claiming he has “tiger’s blood) as a result of excessive drug consumption. Most recently, Sheen revealed that he is HIV positive, a consequence of his hard partying life. 4. Jaycee Chan

Legendary Hong Kong actor/martial artist Jackie Chan served as China’s antidrug ambassador since 2009, which makes his son’s arrest for drug possession in 2014 all the more surprising. Because of the strict laws in in China, Jaycee Chan, who is also an actor and singer, faced sentences as severe as the death penalty. Luckily for him, he was only sentenced to six months in prison and fined 2,000 yuan. Chan’s father apologized on his son’s behalf and refused to use his celebrity status to help his son. After his release from prison, Jaycee also made a public apology and vowed never to repeat his actions. 3. Redmond O’Neal

Redmond O’Neal is the son of actors Ryan O’Neal and Farrah Fawcett. Like so many celebrity kids before him, O’Neal has struggled with drug addiction. He’s also had his fair share of problems with the law, being arrested on several occasions for drug and weapons related offences. He was sentenced to three years in prison this year after violating his probation relating to a drug possession conviction. Drugs runs in the family for O’Neal, as both his father and his half-sister, actor Tatum O’Neal, have had their own struggles with addiction. 2. Cameron Douglas

Kirk and Michael Douglas are one of the greatest father-son acting duos in Hollywood history. Unfortunately Cameron Douglas, son of Michael, wasn’t able to live up to family name. Cameron, who starred alongside his father and grandfather in It Runs in the Family (apparently it doesn’t), has been arrested for drug related offenses on more than one occasion, and in 2010 he was sentenced to five years in prison for possession and dealing. A year later an additional four and a half years were added on to his sentence as he was found to have had drugs in his possession while in prison. 1. Christian Brando Marlon Brando is often cited as one of the greatest actors in American cinema history. He won Academy Awards for his performances in The Godfather and On the Waterfront and inspired future generations of actors. His son, however, is a different story. Christian Brando shot and killed his half-sister’s brother in 1990 at Marlon’s residence in the Hollywood Hills. After being told by his sister that her boyfriend had been abusive toward her, Christian confronted him with a gun, which led to a struggle and the boyfriend being killed. Christian claimed that it was an accident, and he was sentenced to prison for manslaughter. After his release, he faced even more legal trouble, being accused of domestic violence by his wife, Deborah Presley.
