4. Jaycee Chan
Legendary Hong Kong actor/martial artist Jackie Chan served as China’s antidrug ambassador since 2009, which makes his son’s arrest for drug possession in 2014 all the more surprising. Because of the strict laws in in China, Jaycee Chan, who is also an actor and singer, faced sentences as severe as the death penalty. Luckily for him, he was only sentenced to six months in prison and fined 2,000 yuan. Chan’s father apologized on his son’s behalf and refused to use his celebrity status to help his son. After his release from prison, Jaycee also made a public apology and vowed never to repeat his actions.
