12. Katie Holmes

Katie Holmes graduated from an all-girls Catholic high school, which was also her mother’s alma mater. She was an A-student, and her father had hopes of her becoming a doctor. This was not to be as she left Columbia University to act on “Dawson’s Creek.” She also left the Catholic church – albeit temporarily – when she converted to Scientology during her marriage to Tom Cruise. Holmes and Cruise eventually split, with Scientology being rumored to have added tension to their marriage. Holmes has now returned to the Catholic church, and is reportedly sending her daughter (Suri Cruise) to Catholic school. Only time will tell what religion Suri will practice when she grows up, as Cruise’s adult children are devoted to Scientology.
