They have even managed to launch an entire modeling career for one of the youngest Kardashian-Jenner members. And everyone resents them for it. But somehow, whether it’s luck, extraordinary business strategy, or a combination of both, the Kardashian Empire keeps raking in cash daily. The big question is how did they do it? Some speculate that it is their relatability; others suggest that they use social media to bolster their presence and they exploit all of the negatives in their lives, from weight loss to break-ups, to garner more views. This brings us to a pressing question on everyone’s mind: when will the Kardashians go away? How will they fall? While the empire has (so far) withstood countless attempts to dethrone it, that won’t be the case forever. As more and more people get tangled in the Kardashian web, there are a number of potential threats that could wipe out the Kardashians, The Walking Dead style, for good. 15. Amber Rose There is a lot of hostility between Amber Rose, Kanye’s former flame, and the Kardashians. It all started around 2012 when Rose accused Kim of being a “homewrecker” and that she was the reason why her relationship with Kanye ended. Amber Rose said, “They were both cheating. They were both cheating on me and Reggie with each other” and that “[Kim] was sending pictures, and I was like, Kim, just stop. Don’t be that person.” Blah, blah, blah. However, the good news is that Amber Rose continually proves herself to be somewhat of a loose canon, which we are not at all condoning. The ongoing feud between herself and the Kardashians could potentially push her to say any number of things about Kanye or Kim, evident when she made the following statement: “After all these years I never snitched on u and I don’t plan on starting now. We once loved each other so I won’t do u like that.” There is the tinge of a threat in this comment and rumor has it that Kim is currently helping her with her own brand of emojis to keep her under control. 14. Caitlyn Jenner The Kardashian family just got a lot more culturally relevant when the patriarch of the family, Bruce Jenner (now Caitlyn Jenner), transitioned into the second matriarch in such a way that it almost seemed scripted. The storyline peaked international fascination, beckoning to many viewers who tuned in to see Caitlin on the show, along with a new brand of reality TV show for Jenner and a lot of income for everyone involved. One associated storyline on Keeping Up With The Kardashians was the tension caused after Jenner made unflattering comments about Kris Jenner in an interview, which was such a point of contention between the family that certain family members, are still not talking to Jenner. But, the question is this: could Caitlin Jenner say a lot more in the future in an offhand remark? She will certainly witness the Kardashian wrath if she makes one wrong move. The chances are high, too, especially with cameras filming her non-stop for her new show. 13. The Tell-Alls From Insiders A fragment of the conflict on the family’s reality TV show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, has come from various outside forces who use their connections to the family to take them down. They are the real heroes of a generation. The wife of Kris Jenner’s ex-husband, Robert Kardashian, and the slanderous comments she made against Kris Jenner was a storyline on the show. In 2014, the Kardashians fought back and sued Ellen Pearson Kardashian for “defamation, disclosing private information and intentionally causing emotional distress.” The case has since been settled. In 2012, the former nanny of the Kardashians wrote a tell-all-book, claiming that Kris Jenner had been “grooming her children” for reality television for their entire lives. She also revealed that Jenner once went off on her for forgetting the broccoli at the grocery store. The book is titled Malibu Nanny: Adventures of the Former Kardashian Nanny. Certainly expect a riveting read. In any case, it is clear these outside threats are very capable of causing a bit of damage. 12. Scandalous Press Coverage Somehow, a celebrity gossip magazine was on to Bruce Jenner, now Caitlin Jenner, transitioning into a woman well before it was announced to the world. With the media circus that surrounds the Kardashian family for the entertainment of us all, it is possible, and very likely, that another scandal is lurking beneath the surface, just waiting for reporters to dig it up and destroy them. With information being circulated at such an alarming rate, it could very well be TMZ or Radar Online to effectively end all of their careers. It might not be a swift wipe-out, but their darkest secrets could be very damaging indeed. This would certainly be a twist-of-events given that social media is very much a driving force of their careers, platforms of which they ruthlessly use to their advantage to continue to get people talking. 11. Another Tape Scandal One sex tape was just enough to launch the Kardashian career trajectory. Another one, however, which could be a very real possibility among virtually all members of the family (Kris Jenner included), could potentially damage their brand – a brand that is very delicately balanced between the innocence of family values and sex appeal. People are already very unhappy with Kim’s tape and the fact that it made her millions, claiming that she is famous for doing nothing. People also don’t take the Kardashians seriously given the fact that they utilized a sex tape as the basis for their career. If another sex tape surfaced, it would send their brand into straight trash mode. A tape involving the Jenner sisters wouldn’t particularly be out of the ordinary given their age. 10. All Former And Future Flames Even years later and with all the money to buy themselves excellent PR reps to do Kardashian damage control, not all of the Kardashians, namely Kim, have managed to keep their former flames under wraps. Most recently, someone took it upon themselves to release audio footage of Ray J, Kim’s infamous sex tape partner, which featured him talking about the problematic downtown odor of his then girlfriend, little Miss Kim Kardashian. The topic of conversation is, of course, very minor, but it goes to show how things can resurface even years later. When Kim’s 70-something day marriage to Kris Humphries ended, he said some very damaging things about the family, including going so far as to try to prove that their reality show was faked and that their marriage was a fraud. In other words, there are countless past and future Kardashian/Jenner boyfriends (and girlfriends) who could potentially use their hurt to fuel their revenge in a myriad of ways. 9. Robert Kardashian The tension between Robert Kardashian and the rest of the Kardashians is very palpable. That much was clear after he broke down on the family reality show and said on national television: “All my mom cares about is the three girls.” From Robert’s public Tweets bashing Kim to skipping out on her wedding to failing to tell his family that he was getting engaged, Robert’s relationship with the Kardashians is a tense one. Clearly, he also has a very different perspective on sharing his life in such a public manner and took a very long hiatus from the show. With fuel from his current fiance, who also happens to be the mother of his future child, his flimsy relationship with his family could become even more strained. As we’ve established, Rob does not shy away from blasting his family members on social media, so needless to say, it could turn very nasty. 8. Kris Jenner’s Greed Kris Jenner is the behind-the-scenes true queen of the Kardashian empire. She basically built it herself, simply using her children to do the dirty work, no pun intended. Kris Jenner’s reputation is that being a ruthless exploiter of her own children’s lives. If reports are to be believed, she is perpetually wheeling and dealing with her kids in an attempt to get better ratings. Undoubtedly she pushed to have Kim’s children on the show along with Rob Kardashian’s emotional struggles, as well as the Lamar Odom fiasco. Reports now suggest that Kris is trying to get Kimye to agree to film their marriage troubles for the cameras. Some even said that her taking her eldest daughter’s ex-boyfriend Scott Disick, a recovering alcoholic, into a very party-like atmosphere was an attempt to get him to relapse. This behaviour could potentially be very damaging to her relationships and could alienate crucial players from her very own game. 7. When Kim and Kanye Divorce With Kim’s infamous 70-something day marriage perpetually in the shadows, obviously, Kim Kardashian does not have the best track record when it comes to marriage. Another divorce is not out of the realm of possibility and should it happen, it could leave a lot of destruction in its martial wake. Allow us to explain. The first concern is that with Kanye’s very public bashing of his of his ex-girlfriend, Amber Rose, Kanye would likely be much of a tyrant toward Kim, as well. In fact, reports suggest that Kim is very afraid of a potential divorce with Kanye for this very reason. He has too much dirt on her. Would he come forward and admit that Kim Kardashian is a cheater? The second problem is that without Kanye’s dose of more “cultural relevance” (we use the term lightly), the Kardashian image is a bit damaged – especially the joint brand, “Kimye.” A third concern is that Kim would undoubtedly receive a lot of negative press and ridicule. 6. The Kardashian Babies The long line of Kardashian offspring might be too young to go against their family at this point in time, but these tiny humans are holders of the greatest Kardashian secrets that could potentially come to light in as little as less than a decade. These children spend their very lives with the Kardashians; they know things more than anyone. With Kim and Kayne’s parenting already being criticized, their very daughter, North West, could potentially turn on them. This is even more likely when we consider that celebrity children are already vulnerable to breakdowns and a variety of other mental health problems that arise from a lifetime spent in the spotlight. Only time will tell whether North West (or any other Kardashian offspring) becomes the Kardashian’s worst enemy. 5. Blac Chyna The weird and borderline incestuous relationship involving Blac Chyna, Robert Kardashian, Kylie Jenner and Tyga, was the cause of a lot of friction and tension in the game of Blac Chyna vs. The Kardashian females. Chyna undoubtedly has a lot of beef on the family simply given the fact that she was friends with them prior to their friendship breakdown. In an even bigger power move, Chyna is now getting even more doses of Kardashian secrets when she took over the Kardashian king (Robert Kardashian). Now that she is carrying his own child and is a new Kardashian queen in the making, Chyna is coming to wield more power that could threaten to take down the empire should the fairytale not work out. The Kardashians are undoubtedly bowing down to their new queen, Rob Kardashian included. 4. Kanye West Kanye West is unravelling before our very eyes; from offensive Twitter rants (including proclaiming Bill Cosby to be innocent) to calling people out to his public meltdowns to his most recent “Famous” video which went on to cause public outrage, Kanye West is a very real threat to the peace of the Kardashian empire. His ego and unpredictability only make matters worse, including the fact that he does whatever he wants, when he wants, and doesn’t care what anyone has to say about it. Kris Jenner, however, is particularly worried about his tirades and is legitimately concerned that he could very well damage the Kardashian brand. It was reported that Jenner even wants West to invest in PR management to rein him in before he causes any more damage. 3. When Kim Leaves Keeping Up As we know, Kim brings in a lot of drama and the majority of the ratings for the show. She is the focal point and the empire is based upon her. If the leading star were to leave the show – rumours were swirling in 2014 that the reality star would be leaving the show to focus on her kids – interest in the family would wane, ratings would drop and the show would, eventually, be forced to go off the air. Even when the family eventually decides to end Keeping Up With The Kardashians for good (or it gets cancelled), this, too, could spell the end of the interest in the family and the end of Kardashian-related headlines as we know it. Ultimately, it is the reality show that keeps them at the center of the pop culture. But, no one will be keeping up with the Kardashians if (and when) it eventually goes off air. 2. The Gossip Storylines Get Stale A lack of storylines for the show is a very pressing matter for the matriarch, especially now that her children are having their own kids, “settling down” and the drama is at a minimum. Storylines are getting stale and ratings are dropping. The family has always been ruthless when it comes to finding potential storylines. But this is dangerous. Various media outlets, from TMZ to People , had visual proof of the Kardashians outside of the hospital with Radar Online claiming that the family had their camera crew with them only hours after Lamar was hospitalized after his drug overdose (the Kardashians deny this). Now that Lamar is back on the show, one source claims that he believes he is simply being used as a mere plot point. If any more stories like this get up, this could tarnish their image just a little bit more. 1. Their Beauty Fades We don’t have the time to break down “The Kardashian Brand,” but it is largely based on the family’s beauty and Kim Kardashian’s body. Kim Kardashian continuously exploits it via naked selfies and photoshoots in the name of “empowerment,” etc., attempting to mask these acts as something more than a licentious woman taking off her clothes. These very instances fuel her career by generating a large topic of conversation. But what happens when the Kardashian beauty fades – when Kim’s body is no longer worthy of being posted on Instagram? Their brand is based on a crumbling foundation – something that will inevitably die out and there is nothing they can do to stop it, despite the number of trips to the plastic surgeon. Let’s face it: The Kardashians are already in their mid to late- 30s. Their beauty is fading each and every day and it is time itself that will ultimately kill off the Kardashians, just like it will kill us all. Opportunities to extend their brand further won’t be as plentiful. The very foundation of their empire will seek to exist. Only then will the world be at peace.
