5. New Zealand Globster
One of the most recent and largest of the globsters is aptly named the New Zealand Globster. It washed ashore on Muriwai, in the Gisborne District of the North Island, New Zealand, in 1968.
Just about 30 feet long and about 8 feet high, the creature was covered with matted fur that measured about six inches long and growing out of a tough, rhino-like hide. Whales have been ruled out due to the hair of the creature, as have many of the known giant species that we know swim in the ocean.
Chairman of the Zoological Department has stated that even he has no idea what this creature might have been, and its true origins and classification, much like other globsters, remain a mystery to this day.
