4. Gambo
A large creature washed up ashore on Bungalow Beach in Gambia in 1983. Owen Burnham, the fifteen-year-old boy who discovered the creature, drew the only known picture of the creature that exists.
Due to a superficial similarity, the villagers in the area called it a dolphin. It was decapitated shortly after it was discovered and the head was sold to a tourist. The body was buried, and attempts to find the remains have thus far been unsuccessful. It was about fifteen feet in length, and brown colored on its top and white on the bottom like many sea creatures.
Like many strange things that remain unexplained, this creature had a beak like that of a bird. No fin was present on the top of the animal, either.
