The Lagos State Police Command weeks ago arrested a suspected militant who reportedly confessed that his group wanted to blow up the 3rd Mainland Bridge in Lagos. The arrest aided security operatives to arrest on Monday 26 December, a bomb specialist, Abiodun Amos aka Senti, who provided the group with explosives.

Police say they were able to recover two AK-47 guns as well as two cartons of explosives and detonators from the suspect. Abiodun was said to have jumped out through his car window after he sighted police officers coming to nab him at the bank of Majidun River in Ikorodu area of Lagos.

Speaking on the development, Lagos State Police spokesman Jimoh Moshood explained in a statement,

“On Searching the Toyota Camry car two cartons of Gelatine Dynamite Explosives and hundreds of detonators were recovered in the boot of the car.”
