13. Biggie Smalls. Christopher Wallace, also known as Biggie Smalls or the Notorious B.I.G., was perhaps the biggest name in East Coast rap during the 90s. Following the murder of Tupac Shakur in 1996, the tension between the East Coast and West Coast rap scenes was at a fever pitch. Although, like Tupac’s murder, Biggie Small’s murder remains unsolved, many consider it to have been an act of retaliation, one that sadly robbed the world of the second of two of hip-hop’s greatest voices in two years.
