The United States plans to support financially forces fighting against Boko Haram movement. The US officials told that they are ready to provide additional $5 million aid to support a regional military force, consisting of troops from Nigeria, Chad, Niger, Cameroon and Benin.
The United States is already providing help providing aid to Chad, Niger and Cameroon worth about $34 million, aimed at financing logistics and equipment needed in fighting Boko Haram. Thus the total amount of financial assistance to the joint anti-Boko Haram force will be about $39 million. Additional $5 million funding will be transferred via the African Union.
At least one suicide bomber who is considered to be Boko Haram member attacked the Police Headquarters in the capital of Nigeria’s neighbour Chad, N’Djamena.
Reports also say that one of bombers attacked the police academy where a graduation ceremony was going on. At least 30 cadets were reportedly killed.
