7. Consequence & Q-Tip

One of the best rap groups to ever emerge from NYC is the eclectic NYC crew, A Tribe Called Quest. The group consists of rappers Q-Tip, Pfife Dawg and producer Ali Shaheed Mohammed. One of their most respected albums was Beats Rhymes and Life, and many of the songs featured a young Queens rapper named Consequence or “Cons” for short. Cons is still active in the rap game and is actually a regular feature on VH1’s Love and Hip-Hop. One of the reasons that Consequence got to feature on so many songs on the Tribe Called Quest album is that apart from being a skilled rapper, he also happens to be Q-Tip’s first cousin.
