These celebrity feuds are immensely popular with tabloids like TMZ. To think that a few weeks of working together can create lifelong feuds, and even derail careers, is something most working people don’t need to worry about. Everyone has crappy co-workers, and we live with them. But the star-studded celebrities of Hollywood don’t always have the same real-life coping mechanisms that us regular folk do. Directors and filmmakers hold the proverbial power, but the stars often hold the power of the audience, and Hollywood’s top earners aren’t afraid to show that power. So when you get two of these hard-to-work-with people in the same room, the result is often catastrophic – or at least entertaining – to watch unfold. Here are 10 celebrity duos who will probably never work with each other again. 10. Jamie Foxx and LL Cool J In 1999, things got heated up between Jamie Foxx and LL Cool J during filming for Oliver Stone’s football film, Any Given Sunday . The two actors play athletes in the film, and apparently Cool J’s method acting got a little too real for Foxx. According to Miami-Dade Police, Cool J pushed Foxx while filming, and then punched him in the head while Foxx was wearing a helmet.

Afterward, Foxx struck the rapper in the face, and then pressed charges on him. LL Cool J told police that he pushed Foxx to make the scene believable, that “it was our characters fighting, not us.” Both refused treatment for their faces, and the charges were eventually dropped.

9. Bill Murray and Lucy Liu

Lucy Liu played Angel Alex Munday in 2000‘s Charlie’s Angels , while Bill Murray played the role of trustworthy sidekick, John Bosley. Murray did not reprise his role in the sequel movie, Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle . The alleged reason for Murray’s non-appearance is because he could not stand Lucy. Murray has been known to act somewhat flippant towards actor’s he doesn’t respect.

According to Murray, there was no feud, just a 20-minute argument where he called out Lucy’s acting ability, and she became furious and unprofessional. Leave it to the media to blow everything out of proportion. Murray went on to explain that there was a separate member of the cast he didn’t want to work with on the sequel, not Lucy, so he did not return. It might have been director McG, because years later, in an interview with the Times, Murray said of the director, “He deserves to die” for making up a story about Murray headbutting the director.

8. Julia Roberts and Nick Nolte

Back in 1994, Julia Roberts starred alongside Nick Nolte in the romantic comedy, I Love Trouble . The film received bad reviews, mainly for Nolte and Roberts’ lack of chemistry on-camera, but apparently things were far worse off-camera. They hated working with each other, and even shot scenes separately.

Roberts described Nolte as “completely disgusting,” while Nolte said, “she’s not a nice person, everyone knows that.” Fifteen years later, Roberts re-ignited the feud during a David Letterman interview, when asked about bad working situations.

Roberts mimicked Nolte throwing a hissy fit during work, impersonating him, saying, “‘What the f*** is that? Did you not f***ing hear me? You don’t know what you’re talking about!’” OK! Magazine revealed that the co-star was in fact Nolte from their 1994 movie together.

7. Bruce Willis and Kevin Smith

Kevin Smith has never been one to hold his tongue about blasting Hollywood stars, even though most filmmakers tend to not take their feuds to the stage. But after working with his idol and New Jersey native Bruce Willis on Live Free or Die Hard , Willis suggested that they should work together again. Smith signed on to direct the Willis/Tracy Morgan buddy cop film, Cop Out .

Smith talked to Marc Maron on his podcast, and then wrote a whole chapter in his memoir, Tough Sh*t , about his time working with Willis on Cop Out . Smith wrote that Willis was a “deeply unhappy lazy-ass,” who couldn’t be bothered to commit to scenes or follow direction. He continues, “He turns out to be the unhappiest, most bitter, and meanest emo-b**ch I’ve ever met at any job I’ve held down. And mind you, I’ve worked at Domino’s Pizza.”

Willis didn’t respond to any of Smith’s jibes, but he did at one point allegedly call Smith a whiner, while Smith called the experience “soul crushing.”

6. Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder

After appearing in the beloved 1990 film Edward Scissorhands together, and being romantically involved from 1989 to 1993, it stings to see that Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder have such an off-putting off-screen relationship. Ryder’s anger comes from her former boyfriend’s mid-life crisis and flippant attitude towards his family.

Johnny left the mother of his children, Vanessa Paradis, to become engaged to 27-year-old Amber Heard. Ryder finds the relationship “inappropriate” at best, while Depp’s middle-aged friends, including Tim Burton, are cheering on the relationship. Though the Depp-Ryder feud seemed patched up, apparently this choked the deal: “[Winona] had a respectful relationship with Johnny for years afterward, but she soured on any idea of an acting reunion after Johnny hooked up with Amber,” an insider said.

5. Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj

While the music competition show American Idol is supposed to be about the music and the contestants, it can be said that the show might not have a 15-season run without the cast of judges. Enter Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj. What they lacked in advice, they more than made up for in tension and eye-rolls. From Mariah calling out Nicki’s singing, to Nicki’s jab-heavy song about Mariah, to an argument about the Lindsay Lohan film Mean Girls , they never let up. As Mariah said, it was “like going to work every day in Hell with Satan.” And Nicki pointed out that, “I’m not ****in’ putting up with her ****in’ highness over there.”

4. Robert Downey Jr. and Terrence Howard

While filming Iron Man , Robert Downey Jr. and Terrence Howard were best buds. Downey Jr. of course played Tony Stark, while Howard played Co. James ‘Rhodney’ Rhodes, a long-time friend of the billionaire playboy. After the huge success of the film, viewers assumed the entire cast would return in the sequel, only to find Howard’s role replaced by Don Cheadle.

Marvel Studios cites “contractual differences” for Howard not returning, while Terrence has a different take. Marvel wanted him to take a pay cut, while Downey Jr. was getting a huge raise. He revealed that he was supposed to make $8 million for the sequel, before Marvel insisted he take a pay cut to $1 million.

Howard explained in an interview with Bravo that, “It turns out the person that I helped become Iron Man, when it was time to re-up for the second one, took the money that was supposed to go to me and pushed me out.” Marvel believed the second film would be successful with or without Howard, which is why they offered 1/8th pay. Even though Howard had a three-picture deal, the contract was not mutually binding, so Marvel did not have to honor it.

3. William Shatner and George Takei

One of the most heart-breaking celebrity feuds comes from William Shatner and George Takei, of Star Trek fame. Mainly it’s because they were so good on-screen together, but Kirk and Sulu have been feuding off-screen for over 40 years. Shatner claims that he was the only Star Trek star not invited to Takei’s 2008 wedding, while Takei insists he was.

Takei has also said that, “Whenever he [Shatner] needs a little publicity for a project, he pumps up the so-called controversy between us.” Takei has said he doesn’t need to forgive Shatner for his incessant ranting and raving, though the “feud” is over.

But the “feud” seems very much alive. On an episode of Watch What Happens Live , Takei said that Shatner was “the biggest douche” on Star Trek , and is “very self-possessed, self-involved, and everything revolves around the Captain.” Meanwhile, Shatner has called Takei “sick and psychotic,” and has claimed that no one cared when Takei came out as gay.

2. Woody Allen and Mia Farrow

Woody Allen and Mia Farrow were longtime filmmaking partners, and longtime real-life partners (1980 – 1992) before splitting up. Following their breakup, Allen began a relationship with Farrow’s adopted daughter, Soon-Yi Previn. In addition, Mia and Allen’s son, Ronan Farrow, long-believed to be the biological son of Woody, could “possibly” be the biological child of Farrow’s first husband, Frank Sinatra. So there’s a whole mess involved with Allen and Farrow’s relationship.

There have also been allegations that Allen molested Dylan, his adopted daughter, when she was just seven years old. At the age of 27 now, she changed her name to Malone, not wanting anything to do with Allen. Allen has been married to Soon-Yi since 1997; as for Ronan Farrow? “He’s my father married to my sister. That makes me his son and his brother-in-law.”

1. Charlie Sheen and Chuck Lorre

The most publicized and talked-about celebrity feud in recent memory is undoubtedly the one between former Two and a Half Men star Charlie Sheen and creator Chuck Lorre. Charlie Sheen was fired from the show (which he helped make into the huge money-maker it was) by Lorre, but that was only the beginning of the ranting and raving.

Since the 2015 finale of the show, Sheen has called his old boss “an a**hole,” and sent threatening messages via TMZ, saying, “You must feel safe, motherf***er. You must feel safe where you live.” He’s also called Lorre “immature and completely unevolved,” and “I don’t care if he lives or dies.”

The famous 2011 situation, where Sheen was fired and ran off, citing he had “tiger blood running through his veins,” became a media sensation that television talk show hosts pounced on. Sheen went on to have one of the biggest up-swings in his career, landing the Anger Management show, and sucking up the Sheen-Lorre controversy for all that it was worth. Lorre has done phenomenally too, still working on The Big Bang Theory , Mike & Molly , and Mom .
