Obviously, celebrities never really know what will happen once they post a photo. In some cases a poor joke is not met with a kind reception. In other cases, an innocent Father’s Day photo can lead to followers freaking out about a baby wrap not being properly harnessed to the father. An endorsement photo can be posted that isn’t up to the FDA’s standards. It can also be something as innocent as a picture of pasta. For the love of everything, can we all just let Chrissy Teigen eat?
Whatever the issue may be, celebrities either follow up the controversy by issuing a statement, posing a corrective Instagram photo, or in some cases, taking the photo down completely. While the fame and money that comes with being a celebrity is nice, the risk of anything you post on social media being considered controversial is ridiculous. Living without that risk is a luxury that only those living in anonymity know. While being Teigen orKendall Jenner would be nice, not thinking twice before posting an Instagram photo is also nice. Here are the most controversial Instagram photos of 2015:
10. Ashley Benson’s Halloween Costume
Ashley Benson, the 25-year-old star of Pretty Little Liars and Spring Breakers, ruffled some feathers when she posted the picture above with the caption, “Help! Can’t decide on my Halloween costume this year! What do you guys think of this Cecil the Lion costume?” Benson was referring to the 13-year-old lion that was killed in Zimbabwe by a Minnesota dentist. After uploading the picture, people started commenting on what poor taste the joke was. Benson took down the photo and apologized for her offensive joke.
