4. Emmanuel Adebayor (2013 Earnings: $16.7 Million)
Sheyi Emmanuel Adebayor is a Togolese professional footballer who plays as a forward for Crystal Palace. He previously played for English clubs Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, as well as Metz, Monaco and Real Madrid.
The former African player of the year made the permanent move to Spurs in August 2012 after a year on loan from Manchester City. To complete the deal, City paid him $6 million to make up for the salary cut he needed to take to fit with Tottenham’s pay structure. His weekly wages dropped from $270,000 to $159,000. He had endorsement deals with Adidas, and Power Horse.
