Things nobody can accurately tell you about Lagos – Unlike other places where you people can tell you when people go to Bed, Lagos is difficult to pin down. Some people even refer to it as a city that never goes to bed. It’s almost difficult to go to any part of the Lagos and not meet people out.

That’s because bed time for some people is actually the time some people get up.
1. How Many people live in Lagos?
Forget the census and the number you see everywhere, no one can tell you accurately the number of people who live in the city. You might find the population pegged and 21 million in some places and perhaps 22 million in other. The number might even be higher or lower in other places but none is accurate. That’s because the number of people who enter and leave the city daily is unknown. Different factor s are responsible for this changes in the number of people that come in and out but you can be sure the people who come into the city are more than those out of it.
2. How long it will take you to commute within Lagos?
If someone tells you it will take you 5 minutes are 2 hours to move within Lagos, you should think twice before you believe that. It doesn’t matter if the person is familiar with the neighbourhood or knows it like the back of his hand. That’s because you can’t be certain how long it will take to move within the city due to one menacing factor: Traffic. A lot of things are responsible for traffic in Lagos even something as ordinary as rain. Pot holes, rally, blockage of alternative routes or spoilt vehicle are some of the reasons for Lagos traffic. In fact, the traffic on the Third Mainland Bridge is there for traffic sake as you can’t figure out why.
3. How many people will attend your Owambe?
So you decided to throw a party in Lagos and you’ve invited all your friend and acquaintances. SO what? You need to make provision for double the invitees and the invitation cards you sent out as the number of gate crashers might double or triple the actual number of invited guests. Some of your guests are likely to come with their own friends too so you can’t really tell the number of people that will be gracing your occasion. If you don’t want guests – and gate crashers – to complain about the unavailability of food at your party, then you need to assume you don’t know the number of invitees and make things surplus…especially meat!
4. The real face of Lagosians
Packaging is one of the things that make Lagos eventful. No one can pretty tell you how someone actually looks especially those you need on the road. Most times, the faces you come across are not the real faces and you can’t be too sure until you see the faces without the make-up. Don’t express too much shock if the lady you see during the day seems different in the evening. Some have even perfected the art of maintaining the model face all day round. Sometimes, seeing does not tell you all
