13. Antichrist
Antichrist was viewed as the most controversial film of 2009, but still deserves all of the attention that it ended up receiving. Due to its complex plot which revolves around a couple who lost their son, end up in a forest and, as the unnamed man tries to psychoanalyze his wife he sparks what can only be called a violent reaction. Its distanced approach toward sex and violence may not be one taken by many directors but, in this case it works. Please be advised that the close-ups of the genitalia and their penetration were done by body doubles but it technically still counts considering that the intimacy, in whatever form it may be, is still legitimate.
12. Lie With Me
As the star of the film Lauren Lee Smith is unashamed to admit, she spends about half of the movie completely in the buff. But this nakedness is definitely pushed to the next level and that’s what she loved about the role. Lie With Me follows the story of an emotionally unavailable girl who is viewed more as a sex kitten than anything else. That being said, the ability to tell the story of a woman from a woman’s perspective was empowering for her, considering that a lot of tales revolve around a male’s point of view and she’s not afraid to state outright that she thinks that sexuality should be presented more openly. Apparently, her experience on set was a great one, since she felt like she was in a very safe environment, and that is one of the most important factors when it comes to creating a believable scene.
