3. Donald Trump
Donald Trump’s feuds don’t just stop at Rosie O’Donnell: he’s even feuding with the sitting President! Not only has Barack Obama been throwing shade at Donald Trump’s aspirations for his job for years now, he’s gone on record as saying that he doesn’t think Donald Trump would be a very good president at all.
“zn-body__paragraph”>“I continue to believe Mr. Trump will not be president. And the reason is that I have a lot of faith in the American people. Being president is a serious job. It’s not hosting a talk show, or a reality show.”
Vs. Barack Obama
Obama has also made roasting Trump into a strange but fun art form. For Obama, Correspondents Dinners are an excuse to be as witty and as sarcastic as he possibly can, and when he is, it’s something special. At the 2016 White House Correspondents Dinner, he lamented Trump’s absence:
“zn-body__paragraph”>“I am a little hurt he’s not here tonight,” Obama said. “We had so much fun the last time. And it is surprising — you have a room full of reporters, celebrities, cameras. And he says no. Is this dinner too tacky for The Donald? What could he be possibly doing instead? Eating a Trump Steak? Tweeting out insults to Angela Merkel? What’s he doing?”
Interestingly, Barack Obama’s approval rating went up three points when Trump clinched the nomination. Talk about the ultimate mic drop.
