5. Justin Bieber – Selling Female Fragrance
Justin Bieber is one of those artists that is completely polarizing when it comes to audiences. While there are some that absolutely hate him, there are still others (mostly young girls) that idolize him in a way that can’t fully be explained. Nowadays, he seems to have gotten better with what he is willing to do for a paycheck, but early on in his career, he didn’t have too high of standards.
He charged a ludicrous amount of money for fans to “meet and greet” with him during concert dates, and regardless of the high price tag, there were always fans willing to dole out the cash to get close to him. He has since stopped providing these VIP experiences, citing, “I end up feeling so drained and filled with so much of other people’s spiritual energy that I end up so drained and unhappy.”
Yet, perhaps the biggest example of how Bieber used to do anything for money was the fact that he actually came out with a female fragrance early on in his career. Supposedly it was for fathers to buy for their daughters since it was a “safe” crush for the girls to have, but it was extremely creepy and damaging to his persona for him to be selling a girl’s perfume product.
