Career
She made her acting career in 1998 when she approached popular actress, Bimbo Akintola whom through her guidance got Iyabo registered with the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) and took her round the industry and she was given an opportunity to showcase her talent through Keppy Ekpeyong in 1998 where she played a sub- lead role in a film titled “Satanic”.
In 2002, she made her Yoruba-language debut with Baba Darijinwon, a Yinka Quadri film and later decided to pitch her tent with Yoruba. She then joined ANTP, she also joined Odunfa Caucus where they have the likes of Alhaji Hassan Taiwo (Ogogo), Alhaji Yinka Quadri, Alhaji Abbey Lanre as the leaders of the group.
And in 2004, She started producing her own movie like “Bolutife”, “Bofeboko”, “Ololufe”, “Esan” , “Okunkun biribiri” and her latest film Silence, which premiered at the Silverbird Cinemas, Ikeja, in Lagos in 2015.
Relationship
Iyabo married a Lagos-based movie marketer in 1999, when she was 21 but is now divorced from their father even though she still bear her former husband’s surname, Ojo. The marriage produced a son and then a daughter, Festus and Pricilla born in 1999 and 2001 respectively.
Controversies
The actress has romantically linked with founders and General Overseers of Omega Fire Ministry and Salvation Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman and David Ibiyeomie, respectively.
