Biggest Churches in Nigeria: Pentecostal churches are taking another bold step in terms of largest building size, auditoriums, populations, branches etc. This is bound to happen since the country is very religious. Their congregations truly believe that there is a supernatural being who has the ability to change one’s destiny and impart the power of the Pentecost in their lives. They also believe there is a God who has the power to make way where it seems to be no way. Due to this belief, an immense preaching of the gospel to unbelievers has increased, allowing Nigerians to visit these churches regularly and devoutly. This has caused the population of Pentecostal churches to increase. In order to meet up with the influx of people in these house of God, who are either seeking for miracles and divine intervention, large church auditoriums are now built. It was founded by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. They have branches across states of the federation and a large auditorium that can contain thousands of members. 6 Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministry Founded by Dr. D. K Olukoya, Mountain of fire is a church well known for its praying abilities. The camp of MFM is very big and the auditorium can contain thousands of people. Mountain of fire also have a football team (MFM FC) which is doing well in the country’s football league (NPFL). With over 200000 members, this large Pentecostal church stays in the number 4th position on the list 5 Daystar Christian Center Founded by a renowned man of God in Nigeria, Pastor Sam Adeyemi, Daystar is one best church known for miracles, signs and wonders. Although this church is not as big as redeem but has a building capacity that can accommodate up to thousands of lives without congestion. 4 Living Faith Church Popularly known as Winners chapel, it is owned by the richest Pentecostal pastor in Nigeria, David Oyedepo. The church was once labeled as the largest church in the world by the Guinness Book of Records. The land on which the church is built is called Cananland by her members and it represents the global headquarters of the church which able to seat up to 500000 people. 3 The Apostolic church This is another most populous pentecostal church with a very large size in terms of space. Its headquarters is located in Lagos while its branches is scattered all over the country. The Apostolic church has been in existence for over 20 years. Talking of members, it has more than 250,000 active parishioners all over the country. 2 Deeper Life Bible Christian Ministry This is one big church best known for its dress code. Deeper life has been in existence since 1973 and it’s one of the oldest church in the country with over 2 millions members as its congregation. The large auditorium of deeper life can accommodate more than 40,000 person’s at once. They also have many branches in the country and abroad. 1 The Redeemed Christian Church of God This religious house of God has over 1000 branches in Nigeria and a spiritual place to be. The current General Overseer of RCCG worldwide is Pastor Enoch Adeboye, one of Nigeria’s most powerful men of God. The camp ground is very large and serves as a meeting ground for the church’s annual convention. it is located in Lagos and has the capacity to accommodate more than a million persons.
