2019 was a year of baby-making for Nigerian celebrities home and abroad. 2019 has had its own fair share of troubles but as our Christian folks will have it, ‘Count your blessings and name them one by one’. With the year winding down, it is time for us to take a look at interesting things that happened from January to December. It appeared to be a baby boom year in the lives of many celebrities going by the number of stars who welcomed children.
In no particular order, We have compiled 10 Nigerian celebrities who welcomed children in 2019.
1. Toyin Abraham
Nollywood actress, Toyin Abraham welcomed her bundle of joy on August 15 2019 and the arrival of her son Ire Ajeyemi garnered a lot of new fans for the new mother who has had a lot of travails and controversies in times past. The actress whose former marriage to fellow actor Adeniyi Johnson went south welcomed her first son with someone else under the aegis Nollywood, Kola Ajeyemi. See their photo below:
2. Ruth Kadiri
Popular Nigerian actress Ruth Kadiri who often plays the role of a wicked stepmom or a jilted old girlfriend in movies, welcomed her first child on August 26, to the delight of fans on social media. The actress gave birth to a cute baby girl and later shared her photo online. Recently she shared pictures to celebrate 3 months of having her daughter
3. Ronke Odusanya
Popular Yoruba actress, Ronke Odusanya, became a new mother after she welcomed her child in August 2019. The excited film star shared the good news on her Instagram page as she said that giving birth is a whole new level of experience. She recently prayed for all mothers not to know the grave of their children as she shared her babysitting experience which has helped her handle her baby well enough.
4. D’banj
News broke that Nigerian singer and energetic stage performer, Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo popularly known as D’banj and his wife, Lineo Didi Kilgrow welcomed their son on Thursday, September 19, 2019, in California, USA. The couple whose loss of their first child, Daniel Oyebanjo III hit the country hard, now have reasons to smile as they welcome their new son. D’banj and his wife have decided to keep their newborn from the Public eye as we all can’t wait to have the baby’s name and photos.
5. Tboss
Reality TV star, Tokunbo Idowu, popularly known as Tboss joined the exciting list of new mothers in the entertainment industry after she welcomed her first child in September 2019. The Tattoo maestro also lost her estranged dad a few weeks after announcing the birth of her daughter. Tboss won’t seem to stop teasing her curious fans over the identity of her baby daddy.
6. Kenneth Okoli
Handsome Nollywood actor, Kenneth Okoli, became a new daddy in 2019 after his wife Jessica delivered their first child, a boy, on September 14, 2019. The proud father took to his page to share a photo of their newborn.
7. Davido
Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido became a father for the third time after his wife-to-be, Chioma, gave birth to his first baby boy David Ifeanyi Adeleke. OBO already has two daughters from different mothers. The news of Davido’s son’s arrival was met with joy on social media and the baby boy was named Ifeanyi Adeleke. Davido also immortalized the face of his baby on an expensive piece of jewelry he recently copped
8. B-Red
There’s one notable family topping this list with multiple entries and its the Adeleke family, having Davido, welcome his son, his elder brother Adewale Adeleke getting married and now Davido’s cousin, Adebayo B-red Adeleke, also became a father in 2019 as he welcomed a child with his wife, Faith Johnson.
After B-red broke the news, Davido alongside his fiancee, Chioma reacted to the news by sharing photos of the newborn, Jordan Adeleke
9. Olamide
Talented Nigerian singer, Olamide Baddo, welcomed a second child with his long-time lover, Bukunmi, in the USA. Recall that the rap act welcomed his first child, Batifeori Maximiliano Adedeji, with the same lady, way back in 2015. It has also been rumoured that Olamide is the father of OAP, Maria Okan’s child.
10. Tunde Owokoniran
Nollywood actor, Tunde Owokoniran, and his wife, Tunmise, welcomed their second child, sometime in August 2019, in the United States of America.
