The former petroleum minister had so much power and influence during the administration of Jonathan but things began to fall apart after President Buhari took over power. Some months back, the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II revealed that while she was minister, more than half a billion dollars in oil revenues were disappearing every month in unknown direction.
She left Nigeria for the United Kingdom to seek treatment for breast cancer. She was arrested in London in October on suspicion of bribery and money laundering. She was later released on bail. Not too long ago, reports surfaced that she was dead but it was quickly debunked by her family. Report however, has it that her health condition has worsened.
