5. Interior. Leather Bar.
James Franco and Travis Mathew’s interpretation of Al Pacino’s 1980’s film Cruising entitled Interior. Leather Bar. is there to show to the viewers what could have happened if those 40 minutes of gay BDSM footage weren’t cut from the original feature in a half-documentary, half-scripted kind of way. Through the tedious task of finding actors who were willing to have authentic gay relations on-screen was difficult, they were able to bring forward a story told through the different usages of the act instead of just having it for the sake of being there, and it made a splash at festivals because of its raw eye-opening nature.
