Buhari also commends King Sunny Ade’s love for humanity, especially the less privileged, by setting up a foundation that caters for the needs of others.
President Muhammadu Buhari has sent a birthday message to music legend, King Sunny Ade, as he turns 70 on Thursday, September 22, 2016.
The birthday message from Buhari was contained in a statement issued by Femi Adesina, the special adviser to the president on media and publicity on Wednesday, September 21.
The statement said: “Buhari joins all friends, family and fans of the multi-talented instrumentalist, songwriter and dancer in celebrating his remarkable life, which has been graced with numerous awards for outstanding performances, including nominations for the Grammy.”
The president said Sunny Ade has over the years brought pride to his country by mastering his art against all odds.
He said the music legend had taken the African musical genre to the global stage, and served as an inspiration and a mentor to upcoming artistes.
President Buhari also commended King Sunny Ade’s love for humanity, especially the less privileged, by setting up a foundation that caters for the needs of others.
The president asked the almighty God to grant the entertainer longer life, good health and more strength.
Meanwhile, US president Barak Obama has commended President Muhammadu Buhari on the way he is handling the Nigerian economy even as experts have said that he compounded the economic recession.
Premium Times reports that Obama on Tuesday September 20 saluted Buhari’s economic reforms, describing them as “bold” when he met Nigerian leader on the sidelines of the ongoing 71st UN General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
Not only did Obama commend Buhari’s reaction to the economy, he pledged America’s support to help him sustain it and also support in areas of agricultural development, recovery of stolen funds and the fight against Boko Haram.
