It has been over thirty years since the first MBGN came into existence and since then, it has been a thing of pride for the winners, down to the participants and even Nigerians as a whole.
This year, Silverbird will once again host the most beautiful girls from all 36 states in Nigeria, including the FCT, to compete for the crown as people from all over Nigeria, Africa and other parts of the world gather to watch these beautiful ladies compete for the title.

The 2018 edition which is also the 32nd edition of the MBGN will hold today, 21st of September 2018, at the Gabriel Okara Cultural Center, Yenagoa – Bayelsa state.
Top media personalities IK Osakioduwa and Toke Makinwa are the hosts of the event.
The event promises to be fun-filled, informative and entertaining with varieties of activities and programmes slated to take place.
Top Nigerian artistes will be entertaining the guests with their performances as well as the contestants who will be showcasing their talents and beauty on the stage.
Legendary musician Tuface Idibia popularly called 2Baba is expected to thrill the audience with his performance.
Celebrities across Africa are already trooping into Yenagoa, not forgetting that the OAP hosts for the event are already in the capital of Bayelsa state, to kick-start the show.
MBGN started in 1986, debuting Lynda Chuba as the first winner of the title, and ever since, the event has only gotten better.
MBGN got the major breakthrough after Agbani Darego beat other contestants all over the world to claim the Miss World title in 2001, making a record of being the first native African to have ever won the title. Therefore, the contestants are not just competing to become The Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, but also as Nigeria’s representative at the Miss World contest.
