Hypertension:
Following the death of the APC chieftain, a family member, who did not want to be named, disclosed that Audu had been battling hypertension even before the campaign.
The sources who described the late politician as hypertensive said he started vomiting blood after he returned from Lokoja. He said that Audu woke up very tired on Saturday, the day of the governorship election and that doctors had given the former governor a blood transfusion which gave him enough energy to go to the polling booth to vote in his hometown, Ogbonicha. He however returned home on Saturday and began vomiting all over again.
“After a while he became unconscious and died around 5 a.m. on Sunday morning,”said the source, who requested anonymity.
