For one, the look cannot be boring. For the most part, a conservative look will probably keep one off the worst dressed list but it is not likely to land someone on the best dressed list. To land on the best dressed list, one must stand out from the crowd, whether it be by wearing a pop of color, interesting fabric or untraditional silhouette. In order to be the best dressed, one’s look must be exciting.
Besides the actual clothing, a look cannot be complete without jewelry, shoes and a purse, three landmines that can ruin the look or transcend the look above all the rest. Many of the best red carpet looks from 2015 were made by a daring pop of color in the heels or a statement necklace (here’s looking at your Naomi Watts).
While there may be some women who constantly kill it on the red carpet, with the right look anyone can land on the best dressed list. The ladies who grace this list of the seventeen most stunning looks on the red carpet range from Oscar winners to Victoria’s Secret supermodels to self-proclaimed cat ladies.
17. Lily Aldridge – MTV Video Music Awards
Considering the fact that Lily Aldridge is a Victoria’s Secret supermodel, it should be no surprise that she is on this list. The 29-year-old bombshell arrived to the MTV VMAs wearing a black dress that was anything but boring. The backless Alexandre Vauthier couture dress had a plunging neckline and showed off Aldridge’s amazing body. Aldridge kept her hair low key and accessorized with Anita Ko bracelets. She attended to support BFF Taylor Swift, who won Video of the Year for the “Bad Blood”, in which Aldridge (and 90% of Hollywood) appeared.
