Red carpet looks at the 2016 People's Choice Awards - Rain or shine, these celebs stunned on the red carpet at the 2016 People’s Choice Awards. No matter how uncomfortable the night probably was thanks to El Nino, celebrities did what they do best and owned that red carpet while attending the People’s Choice Awards last night. More.. But not all of them were exactly red carpet favorites. As always, there are the ones who killed it with their ensemble whether it be sexy and classy or unique in a tasteful way. Then there are those who kind of missed the mark which is either because they tried too hard to impress or they just could have done better. Either way, we enjoyed watching them walking down that red carpet and rooting for them for keeping it together in this out of control weather SoCal is currently experiencing. El Nino has nothing on Hollywood and its stars. Jokes aside, the show is usually one of the most fun nights of the award season where celebs get the chance to dress it up or down. Pretty Little Liar’s Ashley Benson arrived on the red carpet wearing this mini black dress from Phillip Plein which hugged her curves in all the right places. The jewel tone on the shoulders gave the look a chic vibe so it wouldn’t just be all black. Her heels were also simple and sexy which perfectly complimented her little black dress. Kat Graham decided to take a risk with this one but overall, it worked for her. The different look gave her a different vibe than the one we are used to seeing on the Spice Girls singer. Graham walked down the red carpet in this pattern dress, looking stunning and confident in the bondage look. Although it seemed to be kind of everywhere with the patterns going on from the dress itself to the shoes, the style worked well with the singer and her curves. It does seem like a hard look to pull off but we think this beauty pulled it off pretty well. 8. Julianne Hough

Julianne Hough showed off her petite figure in this tight-fitting sequined gown. She even posted up a pic on her Instagram profile of her in all smiles trying to squeeze in the dress as if she has anything to squeeze! She captioned the cute photo, “Zip me in baby! Ready to present with my #pinkladies tonight at the People’s choice awards! Who’s watching?! #moderndayBADsandy #GreaseLive @gogrease #peopleschoiceawards @ketherdonohue @kekepalmer @carlyraejepsen @vanessahudgens.” The Grease Live star presented Favorite Album along with the rest of her Grease Live co-stars. The dress was one statement but it was her bun that took over her whole look. The 27-year-old actress definitely pulled off the casual hairdo on the red carpet. 7. Carly Rae Jepson

Another risk taker last night was Carly Rae Jepson . The “Call Me Maybe” singer showed up to the People’s Choice Awards in this Joan Jett inspired look which got a lot of people thinking. Although it is different from her usual, quirky style, we think it was nice to see a change. The edgy, leather dress was enough to give that greaser vibe look she was trying to portray but Jepson preferred to go all the way with this one, considering her choice of hair style. She completed the look with her greaser cut and dark rocker makeup. We have to say, she pretty much overshadowed the rest of her Grease Live co-stars. 6. Kate Hudson

Kate Hudson showed up for the night, stunning as always in a white, strapless jumpsuit. The How to Lose a Man in 10 Days actress looked super glamorous in white as she arrived on the red carpet. She was also one of the first stars to arrive. She was probably really excited to showcase her fabulous look. If you don’t know yet, the actress is a huge fan of fitness and even has her own fitness clothing line called Fabletics so she obviously went for a look that would complement her hard-earned physique. Even though with that bod you can probably pull off anything, this sleek outfit did the job. 5. Lea Michele

Another star who rocked an LBD was Lea Michele who looked incredible at last night’s show in this mini peekaboo dress that gave her a look we are not used to seeing from the Glee star. The 29-year-old was smoking hot in the vintage, cutout LBD from Ellie Saab’s Fall/Winter 2015 ready-to-wear collection. It looked like the perfect combination of simple and sexy. The TV actress paired up the rest of her black outfit with pumps which perfectly complement the rest of her babe look by giving us legs and thighs for days. She also had the chance to present at the award show on stage where everyone got a front row seat for her bombshell look. 4. Christina Milian

Everybody was talking about this look. Christina Milian walked on the red carpet in vivacious purple in this sexy sequined dress paired up with purple strappy heels. The look was definitely turning heads around and not all of them were for the good. However, the fact that Christina owned the entire look from head to toe made us put her on this list. She was turning it up in this ensemble, almost giving us some Lil Kim (back at the 1999 MTV Video Music Awards) except less raunchy. The reality TV star even went for some purple eye shadow. Regardless if you liked the look or not, we know for sure what her favorite color is now. 3. Vanessa Hudgens

Vanessa Hudgens always gives us sexy in these award shows and last night was no different. The Grease Live star decided to go the edgier route from the rest of her co-stars but little did she know, Jepson came out and took her throne. Regardless, the High School Musical alumni looked stunning wearing a metallic gown along with smokey eye makeup which she always likes to rock on and off the red carpet. She went for a sleek back hairdo which was just the right touch for the rest of her retro look. To top it off, she pulled off this modern choker which goes with her fashionista personality. 2. Natalie Dormer

Although it looks like the most casual ensemble on this list, Natalie Dormer had all of our jaws dropping when she came out with this all-black attire. Dormer showed up in this sheer pants suit that left a little to the imagination. Her simple blonde locks and overall casual outfit took the spotlight, especially when she walked on stage to present an award. The Game of Thrones actress decided to show off what she’s got aside from what viewers usually watch on the TV series. Dormer also kept it casual with her black pumps. As said before, although simple, it was one of the sexiest looks of the night. 1. Shay Mitchell

This Pretty Little Liar had our eyes on her the whole time as she strutted down the red carpet. Shay Mitchell has always worked her magic during these events and last night was probably one of her best. She wore this sexy, black halterneck gown that carried daring details on the side. The 28-year-old showed off what she’s been working out, which was her long toned legs. The straps of the dress on the side perfectly complements Shay’s toned figure and she sure didn’t hold back from embracing what she’s got. Not only was her dress to die for but her makeup and hair were also on point. The Pretty Little Liars actress looked the part as she took Favorite Cable TV Drama along with her co-stars of the ABC Family series.
