Demi shocked fans on Friday (June 4th) when she posted an Instagram post noting that her six-yearrelationship with boyfriend Wilmer Valerrama had come to an end, saying “This was an incredibly difficult decision for both of us, but we have realized more than anything that we are better as best friends. We will always be supportive of one another. Thank you to everyone who has offered us kindness and support over the years.”
The breakup comes as a big surprise to the public. Just one month prior, Demi had been gushing about her relationship with Valderrama. The couple had spoken openly about their hopes for the future, including marriage. “We’ve been together this long.. obviously I’m not going anywhere,” she told Ellen DeGeneres in February.
