3. They Tried To Patent Blue Ivy’s Name
To try is to fail. In this case, the wildly successful couple is no exception. In an attempt to keep copycat couples from creating their own tiny hues of Blue, after their daughter was born in 2011, the couple to prevent anyone else from using the moniker. Nevertheless, not as powerful as they believed, the application was declined by the US Patent and Trademark Office. Hopefully, that fact alone isn’t enough to vastly increase the number of Blue Ivy’s in the world. Only time will tell.
