But unlike us, celebrities have to be hyper aware that there are people who might try to take advantage of them because of their money and fame. Hopefully they have a few people they can trust no matter what, like family and childhood friends, but sometimes even that isn’t guaranteed.
Forgiveness can be difficult, but it’s even harder when someone close to you betrays you in a way you never expected. Sometimes the best thing to do is just cut them out of your life completely, because you’ll probably never be able to trust them again. Celebrities have enough trouble maintaining their privacy without someone they trust sabotaging it for their own gain. Here are 10 celebrities who’ve been betrayed by someone close to them.
10. Ryan Reynolds
Ryan Reynolds recently revealed in a GQ interview that he caught one of his oldest friends shopping around pictures of his and wife Blake Lively‘s newborn daughter, James, to the tabloids. “I kind of got in front of it, which is good. But it was a slightly dark period. A bad couple of weeks… It was like a death. It was like one of those devastating things to find out,” he said. “There isn’t really a conversation to have. It’s just, ‘Oh, well, now I’m never going to see you or talk to you again, unfortunately.’ That’s kind of how it worked out.” Apparently his friend didn’t think he’d get caught, despite the fact that Reynolds and Lively only shared pictures with a select group of people they thought they could trust.
