1. George Takei & Brad Altman
In the 1980’s, George Takei was best known for his role as Mr. Sulu in “Star Trek”. After Star Trek went off the air, George was still a working actor, and joined a gay running club. He noticed a man named Brad Altman, who was the best runner in the group, and George asked Brad to train him.
Not too long after, the running pair became partners, keeping their relationship a secret for 18 years before George came out of the closet in 2005. Three years later, George and Brad got married. Today, the couple are icons of the marriage equality campaign as well as maintaining one of the most significant social media presences in modern history.
