We play horror films and often times torture ourselves with the amazing technology we have to make a scary flick seem so real. It’s been a popular genre, especially during the 80s and 90s, with famous horror directors and writers.
But why do we love horror films? It doesn’t make sense to appreciate being scared. However, all around the world, scary movies have been scaring us for decades, leaving us wondering what really does lurk in the shadows in our bedrooms, or the darkness on the streets. 15. Jaws
Horror movies possess an advantage of variety when it comes to production and selection. The famous movie Jaws, for example, made an amazing amount of money at the box office and completely broke through everyone’s expectations of what the movie could do. For those who do not know, Jaws is a 1975 film about a large great white shark who terrorizes a small town known as Amity. The police chief of the town grows concerned and sets out plans with other individuals to stop the shark from causing any more harm. The movie was based on a book by Peter Benchley, the author of the famous book, Jaws.
