Pics of Hollywood celebrities appeared on 4chan on the last day of summer. A little bit later they were published on Reddit. The most pictures are provocative and private. A lot of pictures are made with smartphones, tablets or web-cameras.
Hackers published pictures of Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Mary Kate Olsen, Selena Gomez . 101 star became victims of this leak. Which pictures are actually not a fake is unknown. Manager of Jennifer Lawrence stated:
“This is a flagrant violation of privacy. The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence”
This statement means that at least her pictures are not a fake .
Actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead also stated that her pictures were not a fake. But that they were rather old and she had deleted them a long time ago.
Hackers could get these pictures and videos with a help of iClouds leak, that allowed them to hack the smartphones and tablets of celebrities. How exactly this person got so many celebrities’ iCloud emails, passwords, or why they retained pictures for such a length of time remains a mystery.
Hacker who posted them did it to earn bitcoins. He informed, that he has nude photos and videos of more than 60 Oscar-winning celebrities.
In 2012 a guy was sentenced for a 10 years for hackeing private accounts of Scarlett Johansson’s and Mila Kunis.
