Annie Clark, better known by her stage-name, St. Vincent, came into the spotlight after the release of her 2009 album, Actor, which was popular with mainstream music listeners because the intricate songs were morphed with pop melodies. Actor peaked at 90th on the Billboard Top 100 album charts. St. Vincent’s following album, Strange Mercy, debuted at 19, securing her recent claim to fame.
She studied at the prestigious Berklee College of Music, and obtained her stage-name, St. Vincent in 2006; she was inspired by her grandmother (whose middle name was St. Vincent), and by Dylan Thomas, who died in St. Vincent’s Hospital in Westchester, New York. Recently, she has grabbed more spotlight action from her relationship with supermodel, Cara Delevingne.
