16. Lolo Jones – Hurdling & Bobsledding
Lolo Jones, born in Iowa, excelled early at an early age with sports. In high school she won numerous NCAA championships in indoor and outdoor hurdles. This success led her to the USA and World championships and the 2008 and 2012 summer Olympics. Though she did not place at either of these Olympics, she returned in 2014 to participate in the Winter Olympics as a Bobsledder. Again she did not receive a medal and it is unclear whether she will continue with bobsledding, but is she versatile or what? Interestingly enough, Jones is apparently the most-followed U.S. track athlete on Twitter.
15. Alex Morgan – Soccer
Alex Morgan, born in 1989, is an American soccer player, Olympic gold medalist and a FIFA Women’s World Cup Champion. At age 22, she was the youngest player on the national team at the 2011 FIFA World Cup, and not only that but she scored the game-winning goal in the 2012 London Olympics semifinals against rival team Canada. That year, she finished with 28 goals and 21 assists, joining fellow teammate Mia Hamm as the only American women to score 20 goals and also collect 20 assists in the same year! She met her husband, soccer player Servando Carrasco, at the University of Berkeley which they both attended and she is only one of 3 women to make the cover of FIFA video games- she is posing next to Lionel Messi on the covers of FIFA 16 in the U.S.
