Rashford begs Mourinho to start him in Manchester derby

Rashford begs Mourinho to start him in Manchester derby – Marcus Rashford hopes he starts in the Manchester derby this weekend  – United and City have won their first three games this Premier League season – Rashford scored United’s winner in their last game against Hull City

Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho would be having a big selection issue ahead of the Manchester derby and his young player Marcus Rashford concedes as much.

Rashford scored a hat-trick on his England Under-21 debut on Tuesday and the striker says he hopes he has given Mourinho a huge selction headache.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is United’s lone frontman with Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial and Juan Mata all behind him but Mourinho might have to think things over.

When asked about giving his club manager something to think about ahead of the City clash, Rashford told BT Sport: “As a young player that’s all you want to do. “You want to make the manager make decisions about whether he wants you to play or be in the squad. Everyone is just looking forward to it so it should be a good game.”

United and City have both won their opening three Premier League games of the season under Mourinho and Guardiola respectively.

The Red Devils secured a last-gasp 1-0 win over Hull City in their last league outing thanks to a late strike from Rashford.

Rashford’s hat-trick also maintained his magnificent record of scoring on debuts, having also netted in his first England senior team, Premier League and Europa League appearances.
