9 Star Jones Lying About Her Health Journey
Honestly, when it comes to dropping a huge amount of weight it really is an accomplishment no matter how exactly you did it or how much something in particular helped you along. The longtime panelist on The View Star Jones managed to drop an astounding 160 pounds after having gastric bypass surgery in 2003, and obviously when the TV star began losing literally more than half of her starting body weight, everyone took a lot of notice. While Jones’ outgoing confidence was what had initially won viewers over, she later shared on an appearance on Oprah that her confidence was at an all time low and she was beginning to seriously fear what the consequences of her morbid obesity might be in the long run, and ultimately she decided that weight loss surgery was the best way to get her weight problem under control.
However, Star decided to keep the surgery a secret, because she said that she felt embarrassed for her decision and was concerned about disappointing people who liked and felt inspired by the old Star. But obviously such a rapid and enormous weight loss set off a lot of alarm bells to a lot of people, and after years of claiming that diet and exercise were the key to her weight loss she eventually came clean.
