Young man arrested for buying goods worth over N1m with fake alert

A young man was detained by Nigerian Police officers for reportedly creating a false alert and using it to pay for products costing more than N1 million (One Million Naira).

He was handcuffed in the market when his fraud was discovered, as seen in a video that recently appeared online.

An irate crowd were claimed to have attempted descending on him with jungle justice before police was called to intervene.

The victim snatched the suspect’s phone and took a picture of the false alert that the suspect had previously shown and provided to him as payment proof.

He was eventually stripped down to his underwear by traders and taken to the station.
