Delta state High court has sentenced a man to life imprisonment after he was found guilty of defiling his daughter.
The 28- year-old father identified as Ameachi Ogo was arrested on a charge of sexual assault after it was discovered that he [email protected] his child in Asaba, on the 23rd of May,2018.

The prosecution led by the Director of sexual offence, Mrs Patrica Akamagwuna told the court that the defendant came home and demanded sex from his wife.
According to the source, his wife turned him down and left on an errand. He was alone with his daughter and took that opportunity to force himself on her. He was caught by his neighbour and he ran away from the scene.
He was later caught by the police who arrested him and he was subsequently taken to court.
Delivering judgment on Wednesday, February 1st,2023, the judge stated that the evidence found on the child and the witness who caught him in the act, together with the defendant’s confessional statement, proved that he was guilty of the offence.
The judge described the defendant as a paedophile, whose conduct in raping his daughter was callous, animalistic and against the law of God. She thereafter sentenced the defendant to life imprisonment.
