Kano Hisbah, a religious law enforcement agency in Kano State, has issued a warning to tricycle riders, also known as keke riders, against pasting posters of nude persons on their vehicles.
The Commander General of the board, Sheikh Harun Ibn-Sina, while addressing the press in his office, noted that the act of indiscipline was contrary to the norms, values and teachings of Islam .
In addition to the issue of pasting posters of nude persons, the commander also stated that some riders play music so loudly that it disturbs those outside, and some dress indecently despite carrying women.
He described these actions as “very bad and against the teachings of Islam” and called on the riders to “fear Allah and stop it.”
The commander issued a warning to the riders, stating that if they do not stop these acts, the Hisbah board will begin to take action. He emphasized that the board would not allow such behavior to continue in Kano State.
