2. Alicia Silverstone
Alicia Silverstone rose to prominence with the instant teen movie classic, Clueless. In her breakout role, she plays the ultra rich teenager, Cher Horowitz, who is rather clueless about what the “real” world is about. It is perhaps with this role, and her tagline in the movie that she can be easily pictured as a cheerleader. As if! But, she wasn’t as clueless as her character because during her high school years, she wasn’t only a cheerleader for San Mateo High, but was also an emancipated minor at 15. It is reported that she sought emancipation during the production of the movie The Crush, so that she would be able to work late hours – which was not allowed for child actors. It is also good to point out that the movie dealt with overtly sexual themes and violence that would be inappropriate for child actors to participate in. Alicia however, not only participated, she killed it. In 1994, she won two awards for the movie, the MTV Best Breakthrough Performance and the MTV Movie Award for Best Villain.
