Workers at Olabisi Onabajo University teaching hospital, OOUTH, have been in shock after a female corpse could not be found in the mortuary.
The teaching hospital located at Sagamu, Ogun state declared a corpse missing during the burial ceremony of the corpse.
The relatives of the deceased were ready for the burial ceremony and visited the mortuary with an ambulance and a team of undertakers to collect their corpses.
However, they were shocked as the mortuary revealed that they could not find the corpse.
The chief medical director, Dr. Oluwabunmi Fatungase confirmed the development on Sunday, and stated that there was a mix-up.
Dr Fatungase stated that the case of mixing corpses had never happened before and the management was working with necessary agents to unravel the situation.
She pleaded with the affected family for their cooperation and revealed that the CCTV camera at the mortuary was being evaluated at the moment.
