13 Royals Cannot Play Monopoly
So, once upon a time Prince Andrew, Queen Elizabeth’s third child, was presented with the game Monopoly. What was his response? “We’re not allowed to play Monopoly at home.”
Apparently, the game brings out the worst in the royal family. They can all become quite competitive and they get ‘vicious’. Of course, that doesn’t bring about good manners, so instead they focus on less competitive games that don’t focus on conquering and dominating. We’re still not sure what games those are. Perhaps, a nice card game where everyone wins? Or, maybe only the queen is allowed to win? It is odd considering that the royal family is known for playing a wide variety of sports that can each become competitive in the quest to win.
12 Two Heirs To The Throne Must Travel Separately
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have already broken the rule that direct heirs to the throne are not allowed to travel together. That means that two heirs are not allowed to fly together and must separate flights even if they are going to the same destination.
Even the Queen does not (and has not) traveled with her children. Instead, she chooses to leave them with governesses. However, Prince William has frequently flown with Prince George to visit other countries. It has been an effort to stay within their budget as hiring separate planes for both him and his son would be costly. Although, this rule doesn’t become a ‘must’ until George turns 12.
11 No Selfies
Well, we all know that no one in the royal family has an Instagram. Yet, it is an equally bad idea to approach anyone in the royal family with a selfie stick. Don’t even think about asking to take a photo with them or for their autograph. It’s against protocol and they’ll only respond with, “Sorry, they don’t allow me to do that.” The rule about the signature is to protect against any potential forgery. As for the selfie rule, we suppose that it’s just an image thing or something that Prince Harry hates. Once, a fan approached him for a selfie at the Australian War Memorial in 2015. Prince Harry’s reply was, “No, I hate selfies. Seriously, you need to get out of it. I know you’re young, but selfies are bad.”
